Mark Best was born in Santa Rosa Ca and moved to Vacaville Ca where he still resides today. As a kid mark was always captivated by concerts and live music. When he was fourteen he talked his parents in to buying him his first drum set ( which took some pretty good talking ) as he remembers.

Mark would practice the drums every day for sometimes hours at a time to his parents and neighbors dismay, but the long hrs of practice paid off because soon he was playing drums with various local bands. Mark took a break from music in the early 90's to focus on his career in the fire service. After being hired and working a few years with the fire dept that old need to play music crept up on him once again. Mark picked up a guitar from a local music store so he would have have something to play in the evening while watching TV ( that wouldn't drive his family and neighbors nuts like the drums had) he asked an old friend and co -worker to teach him the basic chords on the guitar ( thanks Steve ) and he was off.

In 2007 Mark played rhythm guitar and sang back up vocals in another local band, but never quite happy with the choice of music and the on going interpersonal conflicts Mark set out on his own. In late 2009 Mark ran into guitar player Wayne Rigot. Mark and Wayne both sharing the same love for music started playing together in "the office" ( Wayne's personal music studio / bar / pool hall / bar / and did I mention bar ) Soon Larry Cellucci joined them playing drums and Steven Bise playing bass and the 48 straight band was born. Mark states "I could not be happier with this band, we all share the same love for the music, we all get along, and when we get togather and do our thing you cant help but to have a good time. So what more could a guy ask for.
